It is easier to spot ADHD in kids than in adults. As adults have subtle symptoms, they might not realize that they have had ADHD for a long time. Only a doctor can diagnose it properly.
The symptoms of ADHD can affect adults at work, at home, and in social situations. The three main symptoms of ADHD are hyperactivity, impulsivity, and inattention.

Fidgeting constantly with hands or feet
ADHD often results in a person to tap their hands and feet constantly.

Difficulty in sitting still
People with adult ADHD can leave their seat when they are expected to stay seated. For example, they need to be seated for a business meeting, but they may not be able to do so. This can result in serious problems in their work life. If they are in a restaurant, they might find it difficult to sit till the food arrives. This can create an awkward situation.

Feeling constantly restless
People with adult ADHD often run or walk because they feel restless. They are unable to quietly participate in activities such as painting, listening to music, watching TV is also a main sign of suffering from adult ADHD.

Talking excessively as they feel hyperactive
ADHD-affected people face difficulty in listening to a person patiently. Even before a person has finished talking, they start talking. They blurt out answers before a question is completely asked. They constantly interrupt others.

People with adult ADHD cannot organize their daily tasks and activities that result in messy work. They are unable to meet deadlines and have poor time management skills. They keep making frequent mistakes in work as they cannot pay attention to details.

People with adult ADHD drive recklessly and often lose their driving licenses.

Cannot remain focused during conversations, lectures or meetings
ADHD-affected people lose focus when they are working on something. They get distracted easily by calls or emails. They also often get distracted by unrelated thoughts. They are constantly avoiding tasks that require mental effort such as preparing reports, reviewing lengthy papers, and completing forms. They keep losing their important stuff such as keys, wallet, eyeglasses, mobile phones, and files.

Unable to carry out their daily activities properly
They often forget mundane tasks such as paying bills, returning calls, running errands, and keeping appointments. This is the reason why people with ADHD face a lot of marital problems.
If you face some of these symptoms, you should visit a doctor soon as only a medical practitioner can diagnose ADHD accurately. The official criteria for diagnosing ADHD is to identify five or more inattentive/hyperactive symptoms in the past six months.
