Eight newcomers to watch out for in VSFS 2017
Apart from the premium lingerie and sleepwear, the one other thing that you can’t miss about Victoria’s Secret is their annual fashion show. One of the biggest events in the fashion industry, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show began in the early 90s to promote their brand during Valentine’s season. However, they organized their first fully-fledged fashion show at the Plaza Hotel, New York City in August 1995. And since then they have created history with their unique approach which showcases not only exclusive clothing but also an extravagant set design and music performances by eminent artists.
This year, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show dazzled the city of Shanghai on November 20, 2017. The show will officially air on November 28, 2017, at 10/9 Central on CBS. It featured some of the leading Victoria’s Secrets Angels including Karlie Kloss, Adriana Lima, Maria Borges, Daniela Braga, Jasmine Tookes, Romee Strijd, Bella Hadid, Sanne Vloet, Maggie Laine, Georgia Fowler, Alessandra Ambrosio, Stella Maxwell, Lily Aldridge and Nadine Leopold. They were joined by artists Harry Styles, Miguel, Leslie Odom Jr. and Jane Zhang for music performances.
This star-studded event introduced some talented new faces from across the world. Here are the eight newcomers who graced the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Shanghai Runway this year:
Vanessa Moody
Born in Texas, Moody has worked for multiple high-end labels such as H&M, Michael Kors, Prabal Gurung, etc. and has also featured in fashion magazines like Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.
Grace Bol
A South Sudanese model, Bol has walked for numerous international fashion brands including Marc Jacobs, Maison Martin Margiela, and Hermès, and has also appeared in several international magazines.
Alexina Graham
Known for her work for Burberry and Sportmax Code campaigns, this British model has walked for prominent names in the fashion industry and has recently featured in big runway projects like Balmain S/S 2018, Brandon Maxwell S/S 18 and Emporio Armani S/S 2018.
Estelle Chen
A French model of Asian lineage, the 19-year-old Chen has walked the ramp for fashion giants like Dolce and Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Boss, Michael Kors, Victoria Beckham, Dior, etc.
Amilna Estevao
An Anglian model, Estevao has worked for well-known labels like Fendi, Prada, Oscar de la Renta, Givenchy, Diane von Furstenberg, Prabal Gurung, Stella McCartney, Vera Wang, etc. Recently she has walked for Balmain, Jacquemus, Trussardi, and Etro fashion shows.
Dasha Maletina
Dasha hails from Russia and is gradually making a mark in the international fashion industry. Of late she has featured in fashion shows for Naeem Khan, Tibi, Linder, Derek Lam as well as also appeared in editorials of Marie Claire Turkey, Elle Kazakhstan, and Interview Magazine.
Mayowa Nicholas
A Nigerian model, Nicholas has worked with some of the biggest names in the business including Calvin Klein, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Hermes, Balmain, and Dior.
Roosmarijn de Kok
After working for approximately three years for Victoria’s Secret, de Kok is all set to make her debut in the VSFS. This Dutch beauty has walked for labels like Ralph Lauren, Kith, Balmain, Redemption and Leonard Paris.
